Overview:
I’m working on a brilliant leadership opportunity for an experienced Head of Group Litigation to join a successful and growing dispute resolution department.
This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll lead a team of group litigation fee earners and paralegals, run your own caseload, and help shape the wider litigation strategy. The role is perfect for a commercially minded solicitor who enjoys developing others, building relationships, and improving departmental performance across the board.
The Role:
As Head of Group Litigation, you’ll take responsibility for leading and developing a high-performing team while handling your own portfolio of complex group litigation matters. You’ll have the autonomy to shape strategy, refine internal processes, and drive growth through technical excellence and strong client engagement.
You’ll report directly to the Director of Dispute Resolution and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of partners, solicitors, trainees and paralegals
Run your own caseload of complex group litigation files
Develop and implement department strategy and budgets
Review and report on KPIs, performance metrics, and audits
Drive cross-departmental collaboration and referrals
Oversee recruitment, mentoring and succession planning
Manage departmental risk, compliance and service delivery standards
Enhance systems and processes to improve client experience and efficiency
Act as a role model for the company’s values and commitment to excellence
About You:
You’ll be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with experience leading a litigation team — ideally within group or commercial litigation.
