About Our Client

Our client is a family office and looking for a senior lawyer to head their legal and compliance team in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a senior lawyer to join their family office. It’s an exciting role as a sole legal counsel position, heading up a team with compliance and company secretarial professionals. As Head of Legal and Compliance you will be involved in all legal matters coming up. You will provide legal advise to the CEO, handle legal documents/contracts, lead projects and work closely with the investment team and other departments of the business. The work is a real variety, such as Trust, commercial contracts, tax and investment related work. Experience in trust and dealing with high-net-worth individuals is key. It's not a transactional role.

The role is based in Hong Kong. However, it's not a Hong Kong focused role and our client is happy to relocate the right candidate. Strong global and family office experience is preferred.

Relevant legal experience is key for this role as they already have a compliance team in place. As the sole legal counsel of this company, you will liaise directly with external legal counsels. Our client has a very strong preference for candidates with trust experience and candidates who worked with high-net-worth individuals in former positions.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• 10+ PQE Lawyer;
• Trust experience;
• Global In-house and family office experience needed;
• Experience in dealing with high-net-worth individuals;
• Native or fluent in English;
• Strong leadership skills, hands-on and well-organised.
