Job summary

Daisy Group, soon rebranded as O2 Business, is seeking a Head of Legal to lead the legal function, partner with senior stakeholders, and provide commercially focused advice that supports growth.

Based in Leeds with presence in Sheffield, London and Cheadle, you will lead a team of solicitors and contract managers, advise the Executive Team, manage key commercial agreements, governance and strategic projects, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with England & Wales admission or equivalent.
• Strong background in commercial law and contract negotiation.
• Proven leadership of legal teams and experience advising executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of solicitors and contract managers.
• Advise the Executive Team with pragmatic, commercially focused legal guidance.
• Lead legal support for key customer, supplier and technology agreements.
• Oversee complex contract negotiations and risk management across the business.
• Support the General Counsel on governance and Board-level matters.
• Drive continuous improvement within the legal function through processes and tech enhancements.

As a Head of Legal you will:

• Lead, manage and develop a team of solicitors and contract managers, fostering a high-performing legal function.
• Act as a trusted adviser to the Executive Team and senior leaders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
• Lead legal support for key customer, supplier, technology and strategic commercial agreements.
• Oversee complex contract negotiations and ensure effective legal risk management across the business.
• Support the General Counsel on corporate governance, strategic projects and Board-level matters.
• Drive continuous improvement within the legal function through streamlined processes, best practice and technology.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent.
• Experienced commercial lawyer with strong negotiation skills.
• Proven leader of legal teams and people.
• Trusted adviser to senior stakeholders and executives.
• Commercially astute with sound risk judgement.
• Able to simplify complex legal issues into practical solutions.
