Job description

Head of Learner Support

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a full-time Head of Learner Support for a fantastic FE College in the Hull area. This role is to start as soon as possible or in September 2025, and is ideally a temporary to permanent position, with the successful candidate starting on a temporary basis before moving onto a permanent contract after 12 weeks. Payment for this position will be £43,157 per annum. It is a full-time role, 52 weeks per year, 37 hours per week.

This role involves managing a team of practitioners across all levels of support, including SEND, ALS, Maths, and English. Your main responsibility will be ensuring that those with SEND are fully supported and receive tailored support across the college. You will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with policies and legislation
  • Leading assessment and planning of additional learning support
  • Managing budgets
  • Collaborating with departments and external agencies, including Admissions and SENDCOs
  • Supporting professional development of staff
  • Promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding
