Job summary

The Foundation and Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, seeks a Research Leader in Landscape Ecology and Ecosystem Science to lead an ambitious program at Wakehurst and across Kew’s sites. You will integrate field ecology, spatial analysis and Earth observation to monitor ecosystems, quantify services and inform management.

You will build and supervise a multidisciplinary team, secure funding, foster partnerships, and contribute to Kew’s science strategy while mentoring early career

Qualifications

• Relevant PhD and significant post-qualification research experience.
• Strong track record in securing funding and collaborative research.
• Background in landscape ecology, ecosystem science, biodiversity science or related environmental disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary program of applied ecosystem research.
• Mentor researchers and students, build strategic partnerships and networks.
• Develop and deliver policy-relevant evidence and practical tools for monitoring and management.
