Job summary

Aimtech Recruitment is seeking a Head of IT to own technology strategy, business systems and IT service delivery for an established business. You will shape investment decisions, develop the IT team and ensure technology supports the organisation’s everyday operations and longer‑term ambitions.

This role combines strategic responsibility with involvement in delivery, requiring you to discuss priorities with senior leadership, challenge technical proposals and help teams resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an IT function or large technology team.
• Delivery of complex multi-team implementations.
• Strong understanding of ERP, CRM and digital commerce.
• Experience with data architecture and integrations.
• Experience with budgets, supplier relationships and outsourced delivery.
• Knowledge of cyber security and IT governance.
• Ability to translate technical issues into business decisions.
• Practical understanding of AI and measurable value.

Responsibilities

• Build a technology roadmap and prioritise investments by business value and risk.
• Lead and develop the IT function across applications, infrastructure and service delivery.
• Improve ERP/CRM/e-commerce integrations with reliable data access.
• Own IT budgets, supplier performance and commercial negotiations.
• Oversee projects from requirements to adoption and benefits tracking.
• Strengthen security, resilience and business continuity across systems.
• Establish service standards and improve incident, problem and change management.
• Identify opportunities for AI/automation with appropriate controls and training.
• Provide senior stakeholders with clear advice on technology choices and delivery risks.
