Job summary

Barclay Simpson represents a leading global insurer seeking an experienced Head of Internal IT Audit & Transformation to lead a specialist technology audit portfolio within a complex financial services environment.

You’ll oversee delivery of risk-based audits across technology and transformation, partner with Executive stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across the Internal Audit function while leading a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Significant Internal Audit leadership experience within financial services.
• Strong expertise in IT Audit, technology risk, cyber security and digital transformation.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders and leading complex audit portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the IT and Transformation audit portfolio.
• Oversee technology and business audit engagements from planning through to reporting.
• Partner with Executive stakeholders to provide assurance and strategic insight.
• Identify emerging technology risks and influence the annual audit plan.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Internal Audit professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement across audit methodology and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with Group Audit and external partners to deliver high-quality assurance.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Internal IT Audit & Transformation to lead a specialist technology audit portfolio within a complex financial services environment. You’ll oversee the delivery of risk-based audits across technology and transformation, partner with Executive stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across the Internal Audit function. Alongside leading a high-performing team, you’ll help shape audit strategy and provide trusted insight on emerging technology and business risks.

Day to Day Activities

• Lead the delivery of the IT and Transformation audit portfolio

• Partner with Executive stakeholders to provide assurance and strategic insight

Experience

• Significant Internal Audit leadership experience within financial services
• Strong expertise in IT Audit, technology risk, cyber security and digital transformation
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders and leading complex audit portfolios

Qualifications & Skills

• Relevant audit qualification such as CIA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with technology certifications such as CISA, CISM or CRISC being advantageous
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver practical, value-adding assurance
