Job summary

The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) invites applications for a Head of IT to lead infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI governance and technology services in a hybrid London setting. You will drive security, resilience and responsible AI adoption while shaping technical standards and partner relationships.

Qualifications

• Senior technical IT leadership experience spanning infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations and service resilience.
• Experience owning or leading an organisational AI strategy, roadmap, governance framework or portfolio of AI-enabled initiatives.
• Experience technically assuring third-party suppliers, challenging designs and holding vendors accountable for delivery and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Own technical standards and assurance across cloud, networks, endpoints, identity, integrations and business-critical services.
• Lead the College’s AI strategy and roadmap, ensuring AI and automation are adopted securely, responsibly and in line with organisational priorities.
• Oversee cybersecurity controls, incident response, disaster recovery, service continuity and the remediation of technical risks.
• Define technical and security requirements, challenge supplier designs and hold technology partners accountable for quality, compliance and remediation.
• Lead and develop the IT team and provide staff with clear guidance on cybersecurity, responsible AI use, IT policies and recognised good practice.
