Apogee is looking for a Head of IT to oversee internal operations across the UK and Europe. This pivotal role involves leading a team of 13, focusing on IT strategy, technological modernisation, and cybersecurity compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong IT leadership skills in complex, multi-site organisations, alongside expertise in infrastructure, cloud, and end-user computing. Qualifications

• Proven IT leadership in a complex, multi-site organisation (500+ employees).
• Expertise across infrastructure (VMWare, Simplivity), cloud (Azure/O365), networking and end-user computing.
• Strong understanding of IT security, governance, and compliance.
• Experience in managing IT budgets, vendors, and transformation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at an executive level.
• A people-focused leadership style that builds trust, inspires performance, and encourages innovation.

• Lead technology modernisation initiatives – from cloud adoption to network optimisation.

• Champion cybersecurity and compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus, NIS2, DORA).
• Develop and mentor a high-performing IT team.
• Lead key change programmes including ERP implementation and infrastructure transformation.
• Partner with HP and senior leaders to identify digital enablement opportunities.

Job Summary

We are seeking a visionary Head of IT to lead Apogee’s internal IT operations across the UK and Europe. This is a pivotal role for an experienced leader who combines strategic foresight with operational excellence.

Reporting to the IT Director, you will oversee a multi‑disciplinary team of 13 covering infrastructure, networking, systems administration, end‑user computing, application development, and service delivery. You will ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and high‑performing – while driving innovation and alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Execute the internal IT strategy aligned with business and HP technology standards.

A typical working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one‑hour lunch break. This is a hybrid role with 1 day per week expected in Maidstone.
