Head of IT – London, Hybrid

You will coordinate the UK delivery of the company's IT services by managing a small team responsible for Production Infrastructure, Networking, User Hardware, and Applications. You will develop and implement IT Strategy and Policy to ensure a cost-effective and efficient technology service for their rapidly growing business.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and support their career development.
- Internal User Technology: Oversee internal IT and computer systems for the company offices.
- Procurement: Build supplier relationships and negotiate vendor contracts to obtain the best value.
- Production Estate Ownership: Manage all aspects including patching, backup & restore, monitoring, networking, and security.
- Policy & Compliance: Manage IT policies, client due diligence, data security, and ISO27001 compliance.
- Innovation: Generate innovative solutions and explore different approaches to work problems and opportunities.
- Building a Successful Team: Use appropriate methods and interpersonal skills to build a cohesive team and facilitate the achievement of team goals.
- Strategy: Develop effective IT strategies aligned with the business objectives.
- Client Focus: Implement service practices that meet client and business needs.
- Planning and Organising: Establish action plans to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Experience
- Exceptional technical background and experience managing IT teams.
- Understanding of Quality Methods related to IT Change.
- Experience with AWS (EC2, ECS, Cloudfront, S3, Lambda), Databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, DynamoDB), Containerised Architecture (Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, ECS), Monitoring Tools (PRTG, Kibana, Cloudwatch), Scripting (PowerShell, Python), CI Tools (Octopus, TeamCity, CodeBuild), Active Directory/Office 365, VOIP, Networking.
- Forward-thinking and committed to continuous improvement in estate and processes.
- Hands-on approach with effective delegation, self-motivated, with a leadership style that leads by example.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with keen listening abilities.
