Job description

As Head of Investment Operations, you’ll lead our investment and pension operations function, focusing on delivering excellent customer outcomes and building scalable, efficient processes. This is a leadership role, suited to someone with deep experience in investment operations and a passion for scaling teams in high-growth environments.

You’ll own day-to-day operational processes around ISA and pension transfers, platform reporting requirements, and cross-functional operational initiatives. You’ll work closely with Product, Compliance, Customer Support and Engineering to shape the operational backbone of our business.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Lead and manage the investment operations function, with ownership over ISA and pension transfer processes (inbound/outbound).
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for ISAs and pensions (e.g. HMRC, FCA).
  • Design and scale operational processes to support growing customer volumes and product complexity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the end-to-end customer experience and reduce operational friction.
  • Build and manage a high-performing operations team, including setting clear KPIs and workflows.
  • Own the operations roadmap and contribute to broader strategic planning across the business.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on pensions, ISAs, and investment operations within the company.
  • Own and manage all aspects of investment operations, including ISA and pension transfers, trade settlements, reconciliations, and fund flows.
  • Lead the team responsible for back-office operations, with a focus on automation and scalability.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting for ISAs, pensions, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Compliance, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to improve the customer journey and operational infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, tools, and systems to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks, including FCA CASS, HMRC requirements, and pension regulations.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in the launch of new investment products or operational capabilities.
What we’re looking for:
  • Leadership experience in investment operations, ideally in a fintech, platform, or high-growth startup. Experience with ISAs, SIPPs, and general investment accounts is essential.
  • Strong understanding of ISA and pension transfer processes, tax reporting requirements, and platform operations.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and scale operations teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Experience with operational systems, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting; familiarity with CASS and pension regulations a plus.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, proactive problem solver, and deeply customer-centric.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to or experience working on a trading desk or with order execution workflows.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Start your weekend early!)
