IG Prime is our institutional-client offering, leveraging IG's heritage and expertise. Since 2006, IG Prime has offered innovative trading products to hedge funds, family offices, private investment vehicles, banks, brokers, and asset managers. Your Role in the Team's Success

The Head of Risk for Institutional Business develops and implements a comprehensive risk management framework for corporate, governmental, and financial services clients. This executive role balances strategic business goals with risk controls and regulatory compliance.

You will report directly to IG's Chief Risk Officer and secondarily to the MD of IG Prime.

What you'll do

• Design and oversee risk management frameworks for institutional lines and guide business units and management
• Develop risk monitoring processes and mitigate emerging risks
• Partner with business leaders to integrate risk into strategic decisions
• Establish risk appetite and tolerance, ensuring compliance and enabling growth
• Report risk metrics and issues to senior management and committees
• Lead and develop a risk team focused on institutional business

Success Metrics

• Manage institutional risk within defined appetite
• Identify and mitigate emerging risks timely
• Maintain positive regulatory relations and compliance
• Build strong partnerships with business leaders
• Innovate risk management approaches to support growth

What you'll need for this role

• 10+ years in risk management, with 5+ years in institutional business or corporate banking
• Understanding of IG's product offerings; experience with financial products including prime brokerage and digital assets
• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related
• Risk certifications preferred (FRM, PRM, etc.)
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Basel, Dodd-Frank, GDPR)
• Deep understanding of institutional client risk profiles
• Experience developing risk frameworks for institutional products and working with regulators
• Leadership skills and organizational influence
• Prime brokerage risk experience is a plus
