In this role, you will focus on delivering actionable reports and visualisations while also owning the analysis of business data to uncover insights that drive strategic decisions. A strong background in data analysis is essential, enabling you to extract meaningful insights from large datasets and contribute directly to business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • BI & Analysis Strategy: Develop and execute a strategy that leverages business intelligence and data analysis to support data-driven decision-making across all departments.
  • Analysis Ownership: Take ownership of the analysis function, working with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights that go beyond reporting, helping to guide strategy and business performance.
  • Insights Delivery: Lead the BI team to produce actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and visualisations that help stakeholders understand key business metrics, customer behaviour, and market trends.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with product, sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure they have access to in-depth analysis and insights that support decision-making.
  • Data Visualisation: Drive the development of advanced data visualisations and dashboards using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, making complex data accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop and maintain metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to track business performance, customer engagement, and market growth.
  • Reporting & Automation: Oversee the automation of regular reporting processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy in delivering business insights.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data integrity and consistency across the organisation, managing data governance and reporting standards.
  • Innovation: Stay current on industry trends, BI technologies, and best practices, introducing innovative solutions that enhance Wrisk’s BI and analysis capabilities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the BI team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Insights roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
  • Data Tools: Proficiency in SQL is essential, while Python experience is a plus for enhanced analysis and automation.
  • BI Tools Expertise: Extensive experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, with a track record of building impactful dashboards and reports.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong background in data analysis, with the ability to turn complex datasets into actionable business insights (but not at a data science modelling level).
  • Data Visualisation: Expertise in data visualisation best practices, making data understandable and accessible to non-technical users.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence business strategy through data insights.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and growing BI teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in insurtech, fintech, or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of data privacy and compliance regulations such as GDPR, especially in the insurance or financial sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
