As the Head of Information Security for the UK and International business you will report into the global CISO and also dotted line into the Director of Technology for UK&I and will be accountable for all aspects of Information Security in the UK&I business. You will work as part of the global security leadership team to represent the UK&I business and as part of the UK&I Technology leadership team to implement global security best practices, protect our operations from threats and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Own and drive all aspects of Information Security across the UK&I business
  • Build partnerships with UK&I leadership to ensure that local priorities and needs are understood while instilling a strong cybersecurity culture across the organisation
  • Act as a senior member of the global Information Security team to represent UK&I priorities and needs and be the bridgehead for global initiatives to be successfully deployed in region
  • Implement and maintain security policies, protocols and measures across all platforms and locations, driving alignment with our global operating model
  • Lead incident response efforts and manage the investigation of security breaches
  • Collaborate with other Technology departments to ensure compliance with security standards, necessary security monitoring is in place and risks are proactively managed
  • Work with sales teams and our customers to support them in understanding how CDW protects our customers’ information, including hosting calls and responding to RFP questions
  • Work with the Legal, Risk, Ethics and Compliance team to support management of broader business security risks, achievement and maintenance of government standards including ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials + and respond to issues
  • Ensure strong security measures are embedded in the product development lifecycle, from design through deployment, aligning with industry best practices and global information security standards
  • Develop and implement meaningful metrics to evaluate progress and effectiveness of cybersecurity initiatives and capabilities. Regularly report on progress to senior management and stakeholders
  • Provide line management to the local Information Security team including recruiting outstanding diverse talent, managing performance, developing potential, supporting individuals and creating a cohesive unit with shared values and goals
Qualifications

What we expect of you

Minimum basic requirements

  • Ten or more years in cybersecurity roles in mid to large organisations, recently at or near executive level
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management and incident response protocols
  • Proven leadership capabilities including building diverse teams
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to a C-level audience
  • Commercial acumen with an awareness of the financial implications of decisions across Capex and Opex budgets and how they affect TCO and ROI
  • A demonstrable track record of getting stuff done whilst managing competing pressures and deadlines and retaining an eye for detail and quality
  • A passion for technology and its ability to have a positive impact on business
  • Self-driven, doesn’t require micro management
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments with occasionally shifting, ambiguous requirements
  • Passionate about both process and technology and the impact they can have on business and our customers
  • Articulate and credible

Preferred skills, experience, and qualities needed

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed teams
  • Professional security management qualification such as CISSP or equivalent
  • Experience in an IT channel or vendor organisation
