Job summary

Build Up is seeking a Head of Income Generation to lead our fundraising and grow our impact across London. You will shape fundraising priorities, secure new opportunities, and manage bids and reporting to hit income targets.

You will line-manage communications and evaluation consultants, ensuring our story is told with impact. This is a key role created to diversify funding and strengthen community spaces for young people in London.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading income-generation activities.
• Ability to develop and execute fundraising plans and bids.
• Strong reporting and budgeting skills.

Job description

Build Up are recruiting a Head of Income Generation to lead our fundraising and grow our impact across London.

Hours: Full or part time: 4 days (30 hrs) or 5 days (37.5 hrs) per week
Salary: £50,000 – 54,000 (pro rata) + 8% employer pension contribution
Closing date: Monday 20 September 2026 (But note applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis from Monday 14th September, so applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible).

The Head of Income Generation is a new role within our team, created to build our case for investment, evidence our impact, and harness the support of new audiences. You’ll shape fundraising priorities, identify and secure new opportunities, and cultivate lasting relationships with funders and partners. At the same time, you’ll take ownership of the detail – writing high-quality bids, managing reporting deadlines, and ensuring income targets are met. You will be responsible for line-managing communications and evaluation consultants to support telling our story.

Build Up works to build the power of young people to shape where they live, and to change who can make decisions about London. We support young people to design and build public spaces, equipping young people with the tools and agency to have ownership over their neighbourhoods.
