Head of HR

£60,000-£70,000 + Discretionary Bonus + Benefits

An award-winning team of surveyors and property consultants based in Orpington, Kent, are seeking a talented Senior HR Generalist for a standalone role where you will manage the day-to-day HR function whilst also working closely with Senior Leadership to deliver a best-in-class People Strategy.

The role

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and partners
  • Further develop the HR function for a growing company of just under 100 employees
  • A true generalist role including managing and overseeing day-to-day people issues
  • Develop and implement HR policies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Define and implement a robust and effective performance management system
  • Support, coach, and upskill line managers to support them with performance management
  • Support the business by ensuring top talent is hired, nurtured, developed, and retained
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement new processes
  • Drive stakeholder engagement in People initiatives and foster a positive and collaborative culture
  • Lead on recruitment and onboarding

You:

  • A CIPD qualified HR generalist (minimum level 5)
  • Experience in a standalone role within a growing SME
  • Proven ability to balance People Strategy with day-to-day HR issues
  • Ability to work closely with and advise senior leadership
  • An exceptional communicator with the ability to influence and engage
  • Relevant history either in a standalone role or as part of a small HR team
  • Easy access to the Orpington office on a daily basis as well as regular site visits to offices in Herts and the South Coast

This is an exceptional role for an ambitious, proactive, and talented Head of HR/HR Manager who enjoys the variety and pace of a standalone role and working closely with senior leadership. Please note this role is office-based five days per week.
