Croydon Council are currently looking for a Head of Housing Management to join their team on a contract basis!

As a member of the extended management team, the Head of Housing Management will work collaboratively across their department and with other Heads of Service and directors to ensure the effective and efficient development and delivery of council services that support departmental and council objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the design and delivery of housing management services for the residents of Croydon, including anti-social behaviour, tenancy sustainment, tenancy checks, and environmental improvements.
2. Ensure the provision of consistent and high-quality services to customers by leading and motivating managers and their teams, embedding a culture of excellent customer service that delivers great community outcomes at real value.
3. Undertake the role of strategic lead including associated policies and procedures in relation to housing management and support services.

Key Deliverables:

1. Plan and ensure service delivery within a complex/diverse service area. Control operational activities within the service area and ensure professional standards are delivered.
2. Manage responses to complex professional or politically sensitive issues within the area of responsibility.
3. Manage key relationships with delivery partners/providers to commission and deliver outcomes within the area of responsibility.
4. Develop service plans to meet strategic business goals. Ensure compliance with all internal and external standards.
5. Ensure the development and delivery of continuous improvements in all aspects of the service.
6. Lead, motivate and develop staff to create and maintain a highly competent and participative workforce.
7. Identify, secure, deploy and manage the resources necessary for the service area to meet or exceed its objectives.
8. Ensure the necessary standards relating to safeguarding best practices/protocols are effectively communicated, monitored and maintained.
9. Implement a risk management programme and advise on issues affecting Council service areas.
10. Ensure the successful implementation of health and safety legislation, policies and practices.
