The Waterside Care Home is a contemporary, purpose-built 64-bedroom care facility with ensuite accommodation, nestled in the heart of St Helens. Designed with comfort, safety, and dignity in mind, The Waterside offers a comprehensive range of care services including residential, nursing, and specialist dementia support. We are seeking to appoint a kind, caring, and motivated Head of Hospitality to join our team. You will be responsible for organizing the Hospitality Assistants and Care Assistants to ensure the dining experience for our residents is smooth and efficient at all times. Your duties will include dining room preparation, cleanliness, setup, and ensuring meals are served in a timely, presentable, and correct manner. This role involves leading a team of Hospitality Assistants, including managing rotas, training, and supervision.

Contract details:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Hourly rate: £13.20
  • Shift times: 0800-1900
  • Alternate weekend working

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high standards of hospitality service
  • Support and assist visitors
  • Inform the Chef of any individual resident requirements
  • Follow cleaning schedules and HACCP procedures
  • Adhere to training protocols
  • Maintain records and reports, including cleaning schedules, worksheets, fridge temperatures, and HACCP paperwork
  • Manage, allocate duties, and supervise the hospitality team to ensure quality care delivery during shifts
  • Coach staff and support ongoing development
  • Promote safeguarding and the welfare of adults in contact with the post holder

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience as a Dining or Restaurant Supervisor is essential
  • Experience in a care setting is desirable
  • Effective communication skills are essential
  • Participation in activities organized in the home is essential
