Job summary

Involve Recruitment Ltd. represents a leading Tier 1 contractor seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to drive the highways maintenance estimating function.

The role requires strategic leadership of a large estimating team and ownership of bid pricing, risk and profitability across major frameworks. You will mentor estimators, standardise processes and provide executive-level assurance on submissions while working with key clients and delivery partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive estimating leadership experience in highways, term maintenance or infrastructure frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, target cost models and alliance contracting.
• Proven ability to price and win high-value frameworks and strategic projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall estimating function across highways maintenance with strategic direction and governance.
• Develop bid pricing strategies and manage risk, opportunity and margin.
• Provide senior estimating assurance across major bids and frameworks.
• Drive consistency in estimating processes, systems and reporting.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement and design to deliver value-focused solutions.
• Develop estimating capability through leadership, coaching and succession planning.
• Maintain relationships with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor bid outcomes, profitability and lessons learned for future submissions.
