We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Healthcare to lead and advance our healthcare services at HMP Woodhill.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the delivery of high-quality, responsive healthcare services across HMP Woodhill.
Ensure compliance with clinical and financial governance frameworks.
Manage the annual revenue budget and ensure performance, quality, and integration in all aspects of healthcare delivery, including sub-contracted services.
About You:
A highly energetic healthcare professional with a robust leadership background.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality services at a senior level in the NHS, prison healthcare, social care, or the private sector.
A visible and present leader committed to team working and a culture of learning and quality improvement
Skilled in leading a diverse, multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
Knowledgeable about the unique challenges of prison healthcare and the needs of its patient group.
Experience in partnership working and stakeholder management
Committed to modernising and developing services to meet the needs of the men residing in the prison.
Strategic Leadership:
Oversee various projects, including service re-design.
Ensure all aspects of the healthcare service meet the detailed healthcare specifications.

The post holder will have responsibility for the management and delivery of health services within HMP Woodhill. The post holder will work with the Deputy Director and HJS Service Directors to ensure that the strategic direction as defined within the service is effectively implemented at operational level. To lead change management in the implementation of service development strategies. The post holder will direct, monitor and co-ordinate the work of the healthcare team and be responsible for the delivery, performance and effectiveness of the service. Through inspirational leadership, the post holder will lead in the development of future plans, standards and systems for secure settings health services.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
