Jobbeschreibung

Description

At Vintage.com, we’re building the most trusted platform for pre-loved items. We help people give valuable things a new life, making the experience simple, transparent and rewarding.

We bring together specialist knowledge, thoughtful technology and genuine care for our customers. By helping more items stay in circulation, we create value for people and make a positive impact at the same time.

The People Team helps create an environment where people can do their best work, safely and sustainably.

Health & Safety plays a critical role within that. Working closely with leaders, operational teams and colleagues across the business, you’ll help make sure our workplaces are safe, compliant and set up to support our continued growth.

You’ll work across a varied multi-site environment, including operational warehouses, production facilities and offices in the UK, while also partnering with teams across our European locations.

As Head of Health & Safety, you’ll set the direction for health and safety across Vintage.com and make sure strong standards are embedded consistently across our sites.

We operate in fast-moving, hands-on environments, so this role is about much more than policies and compliance. You’ll understand how our sites really operate, identify risks early, put practical controls in place and build a culture where everyone takes ownership of safety.

You’ll lead our approach across multiple UK sites while helping us develop a joined-up approach across Europe, bringing consistency to how we manage risk, investigate incidents, measure performance and improve.

  • Health and safety is consistently embedded into everyday decision-making across our sites.
  • Leaders understand their responsibilities and feel confident managing health and safety within their teams.
  • Risks are identified early and addressed through practical, proportionate controls.
  • Incidents and near misses are investigated thoroughly, with lessons turned into meaningful improvements.
  • Health and safety performance is clearly measured, understood and used to improve how we work across the UK and Europe.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead the development and delivery of our health and safety strategy across the business.
  • Act as the senior subject matter expert, giving clear and practical advice to senior leaders and operational teams.
  • Build strong relationships with site leaders and managers, creating clear accountability for health and safety at every level.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and assurance activity across our warehouses, production environments and offices.
  • Identify and implement practical control measures, prioritising action based on level of risk.
  • Lead investigations into significant incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring actions are completed.
  • Maintain clear systems for tracking incidents, risks, actions, audits and training.
  • Maintain a robust health and safety management framework that supports compliance across our UK operations.
  • Keep policies, procedures and guidance current, practical and aligned with relevant legislation and recognised best practice.
  • Ensure statutory reporting and record-keeping requirements are understood and completed appropriately.
  • Work with local teams and specialist partners to support health and safety compliance across our European locations.
  • Build a positive safety culture where colleagues feel confident identifying risks, raising concerns and suggesting improvements.
  • Develop training and guidance that helps managers and employees understand their responsibilities.
  • Coach leaders to take genuine ownership of health and safety within their areas.
  • Analyse incidents, near misses, audit findings and other health and safety data to identify trends and emerging risks.
  • Establish clear KPIs and provide regular reporting and insight to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen our systems, processes and controls as the business evolves.
What You’ll Bring
  • Significant experience leading health and safety within a multi-site organisation.
  • Strong experience working within operational environments such as warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or production.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience developing and implementing health and safety strategies, policies and management systems.
  • Strong experience of risk assessment, audits, incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Confidence influencing senior leaders and operational teams across different levels of an organisation.
  • Strong judgement, with the ability to balance compliance, risk and operational reality.
  • Comfortable travelling regularly between sites and spending significant time within operational environments.
  • Experience supporting health and safety across multiple European countries or jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of European health and safety frameworks.
  • Experience within a rapidly growing, changing or geographically dispersed organisation.
  • Experience working towards recognised health and safety standards or accreditations.
  • A recognised professional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health & Safety, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered membership of IOSH, or demonstrable progress towards Chartered status, would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence would be beneficial due to the multi-site nature of the role.

In this role, living our values means:

  • Make clear, evidence-based decisions and speak up when something does not feel safe or right.
  • Take ownership of health and safety risks and follow actions through rather than allowing issues to drift.
  • Treat people with care and respect, particularly when dealing with incidents, investigations or difficult conversations.
  • Work openly with site leaders, managers and teams, making health and safety something we own together rather than something managed in isolation.
  • Challenge constructively where standards need to improve, while staying practical about how solutions work in real operational environments.
  • Stay curious about incidents, near misses, data and feedback, using them to understand root causes and improve how we work.
  • Keep the wider employee experience and needs of the business in mind when making recommendations, balancing strong standards with practical, proportionate solutions.
Equal Opportunities

At Vintage Trading Limited, we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and able to bring their authentic self to work. We believe that diversity fuels innovation, creativity, and success.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and we work hard to ensure equitable opportunities for all. If you're excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply, your unique skills and experiences might be exactly what we need now or in the future.

If you need any adjustments or accommodations during the hiring process, just let us know and we’ll do our best to support you.

Your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

At Vintage.com, we exist to create a world where everything has value and nothing is wasted.

We're building the world's most trusted platform for pre-loved items, making it simple for people to unlock the value in the things they no longer need while keeping valuable materials in circulation and out of landfill.

What began as a successful model in the UK has evolved into an international business with operations across Europe and ambitions far beyond. Today, we operate as one company, one team, and one brand, united by a shared purpose, mission, and set of values.

Behind the scenes, we're building the world's largest international trading platform for pre-loved items, powered by expert people, smart technology, data-driven decision making, and a deep belief in the circular economy.

Our teams collaborate across borders, sharing ownership of outcomes and bringing the same care, fairness, and common sense to every customer interaction and business decision.

Every item we buy is rehomed, reused, or responsibly recycled. Whether it's precious metals, jewellery, watches, cameras, collectibles, or other valuables, we help ensure that items continue their journey rather than going to waste.

As we expand into new markets and scale internationally, our goal remains the same: To become the most trusted platform in pre-loved items, creating a future where everything has value and nothing is wasted
