Job description

Job Title: Interim Head of Group Financial Reporting

An international market leader is seeking an interim Head of Group Financial Reporting to lead accurate and timely consolidated group reporting, including off-ledger entities, and to implement financial controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accountable for accurate and efficient group consolidation (including off-ledger entities) and elimination processes in line with group accounting policies and standards across all entities on a monthly basis.
  2. Responsible for posting and recording correct accounting transactions for sales, purchases, trade, and asset acquisitions at the time of acquisition and for subsequent fair value adjustments.
  3. Lead strategic alignment for newly acquired entities by ensuring their accounting practices adhere to group policies and providing ongoing support, including review of monthly submissions.
  4. Ownership and oversight of processes within scope, highlighting risk items or areas of concern and embedding a strong controls environment across the team.
  5. Support group structure activities such as reorganizations, hive-ups, and strike-offs, ensuring transactions are appropriately captured at both entity and consolidated levels.
  6. Create and own standard operating procedures, driving automation, efficiency, and a robust controls framework.
  7. Serve as a key contact for external auditors, working collaboratively to minimize time and costs, and assist in developing strategic financial information, especially for the Head of FP&A.
  8. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, particularly the Group Financial Controller, providing expertise and guidance for decision-making.
  9. Provide coaching and development to team members to foster a motivated, loyal, and engaged team, promoting initiative and problem-solving.
Essential Requirements:
  • Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA)
  • Strong technical accounting and group reporting skills
  • Experience in managing and developing a team
  • Deep understanding of financial standards, especially IFRS and consolidated financial statements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of process and control frameworks
