In this Role, you'll get to:

  • Monitor emerging EU policies, regulatory changes, legal frameworks and government initiatives that could impact our business, evaluating them effectively and providing actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Actively help to shape the company's strategic direction by developing our EU-level external engagement on these issues, helping ensure we're always one step ahead while maximizing business opportunities.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with the Brussels institutions, regulators and key industry bodies to grow our reputation within the sector and position us as a thought and knowledge partner.
  • Represent the company in policy discussions, advocacy efforts and events, helping to shape the future of the industry and advocating for policies that support our growth and sustainability.
  • Be our go-to person when navigating critical issues in government relations, managing them swiftly and effectively to protect the company's best interests.

What you'll Need to Succeed:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Business or a similar field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in government relations and/or public policy roles, with a strong understanding of the EU policy and legislative environment, preferably in the online travel or tech industries.
  • Have a strong track record of working with the core Brussels institutions (Commission, Parliament and Council) as well as industry coalitions, regulators and other policymakers at EU level - and are comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments. Your public relations and political sensitivity skills are second to none.
  • Communication and negotiation skills are top-tier-you're comfortable and confident in advocating for change and providing strategic guidance to internal senior leadership.
  • Thrive in cross-cultural environments, comfortable with ambiguity and are adept at working with diverse teams in matrix structures. Proficiency in multiple languages is a huge plus.
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership, a natural collaborator, and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment.

Please note, the successful applicant will be required to be based in Brussels.
