  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ICSA) or significant experience in a similar role.

Head of Governance & Assurance – Permanent opportunity – Based in London – Salary: circa £85,000-£90,000k

With a strong commitment to governance, risk management, and compliance, they are looking for a passionate Head of Governance and Assurance. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the governance framework and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of robust governance frameworks.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Management Team and Board on governance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Oversee company secretarial functions, including administration of Board and Committee meetings.
  • Lead on the annual review of Board effectiveness and contribute to Board training initiatives.
  • Develop and manage an effective risk management framework.
  • Manage internal audits and implement necessary recommendations.
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience)
  • Extensive senior-level experience in governance, risk, and assurance, particularly within property and housing.
  • Ability to work with Boards and Committees, providing strategic and operational advice.
  • Strong understanding of legislative frameworks related to governance and compliance.
  • Previous experience in implementing governance frameworks and initiatives that meet with regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a track record of influencing executive boards, senior leadership teams and regulators.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ICSA) and/or significant experience in a similar role.
