This is a unique opportunity for Head of Governance and Risk to combine professional growth with work that truly matters. The role will be home based with frequent travel to the Manchester office.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the Company Secretary
  • Leading the development and implementation of governance and risk
  • Designing and delivering the governance strategy and operational plan
  • Defining the organisation's risk appetite and owning the risk management framework
  • Advising the Board and Executive on corporate governance
  • Leading the corporate planning framework, including strategic progress reporting
  • Representing the organisation with external stakeholders
  • As a leadership team member, upholding organisational values

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of corporate governance in a regulated sector
  • A sound understanding of the social housing environment
  • Experience of servicing Board and Committees
  • Experience of leading risk management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, and be a strategic thinker
  • Strong relationship builder, being an ambassador for GLH
  • Preparedness to work outside the contracted 35-hour week to deliver tight deadlines and travel within the UK
