Job description
Overview

As Head of Governance and Compliance, you’ll lead the delivery of governance and company secretarial services across the Peabody Group. You’ll work closely with non-executive board and committee members, senior leaders and colleagues to ensure governance is effective, compliant, and future-ready.

You’ll oversee the Governance and Compliance team, building a culture of excellence while driving improvements in systems, processes, and compliance. Acting as deputy to the Director of Governance and Compliance, you’ll also support the Group Secretary on complex matters, making a direct impact on how we deliver good governance across the organisation.

What you\'ll need
  • Qualified or part qualified company secretary, or equivalent qualification, and/or demonstrable relevant experience within the housing sector
  • Strong, up-to-date, professional knowledge of the legal, regulatory, and policy frameworks in which housing associations operate.
  • Proven management experience in building a high-performing team, demonstrating credibility, personal drive, and ambition to make a difference.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting Boards and Executives with their responsibilities in governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

You’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.
