What you will be doing

We're looking for an experienced Head of Fraud and Risk Management to lead Ramp’s fraud prevention and enterprise risk strategy. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling our global fraud and risk frameworks—ensuring Ramp is positioned to operate safely, securely, and efficiently in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

You’ll join Ramp’s first line of defence, reporting into our Risk leadership team. The role will require both strategic thinking and hands-on execution as we continue to grow our B2B and B2C operations around the world.

What you’ll be doing
  • Designing, implementing and continuously optimising Ramp’s global fraud management strategy and governance

  • Defining and delivering a best-in-class fraud prevention programme, controls, and detection capabilities

  • Setting fraud risk appetite thresholds at global and entity level, across both B2B and B2C customer segments

  • Building and monitoring key fraud KPIs, benchmarking against internal appetite, industry standards, and regulatory thresholds

  • Acting as Ramp’s external representative for fraud matters—with partners, processors, regulators and financial institutions

  • Collaborating closely with Financial Crime Operations, setting fraud-related procedures and escalation protocols

  • Partnering with product, engineering, and data teams to implement fraud tooling, controls, and process automation

  • Proactively monitoring industry and ecosystem trends to drive continuous improvement

  • Leading enterprise-wide risk management frameworks across all teams, embedding risk ownership into daily decision-making

  • Supporting business units in aligning risk strategies, tolerance levels, and controls

  • Owning the business continuity and resilience strategy for operational risk management

What you will bring
  • 5+ years of experience in fraud investigations and fraud detection and risk management and with at least 5 years in fintech and team leadership roles

  • Knowledge of card scheme thresholds, particularly with high-risk MCC in the US

  • Experience working with SQL, analytics tools, and operational databases

  • Track record of success in both large financial institutions and fast-paced start-up or scale-up environments

  • Experience building or rebuilding fraud and risk processes from scratch

  • Comfortable working strategically while also rolling up your sleeves to execute

  • Excellent communicator, with proven ability to influence stakeholders across compliance, risk, operations, product, and engineering

  • Experience representing companies with external stakeholders—e.g. banks, regulators, and board-level leadership
  • Good understanding of fraud and non-fraud chargebacks and howhow 3DS liability shift works
  • Knowledge of APP fraud and UK regulations and risk associated with Apple and Gpay

  • Able to make sound decisions quickly in high-pressure, high-stakes environments

  • Thrives in ambiguity, with a positive, proactive and collaborative mindset

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field preferred
