Job summary

Harrow College seeks a dynamic Head of School for Foundation to provide strategic and operational leadership for learners with mild to complex needs, ensuring inclusive, high-quality provision and strong outcomes.

You will lead and inspire a team across full-time and part-time programmes, driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, while aligning curriculum with local priorities and national SEND reforms.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent and an FE teaching qualification (Level 5 or higher) recognised by the FE sector.
• Inspiring leadership of High Needs teams within FE to raise teaching standards.
• Experience leading SEND teaching, learning and assessment under QA frameworks.
• Ability to develop innovative FE curricula to meet industry needs in SEND/high need contexts.
• Skilled practitioner in teaching and learning with strategies to improve attendance.
• Knowledge of quality improvement processes and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Foundation learners with mild to complex needs.
• Lead curriculum planning, development, and quality assurance across FE programmes.
• Strengthen transition links and progression pathways with external partners.
• Drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across all levels of need.
• Manage a team of curriculum and support staff across full-time and part-time programmes.
