Overview

Foundation of Light, the registered charity of Sunderland Football Club, aims to involve, educate and inspire people of all ages from Sunderland, South Tyneside and Durham to improve their life chances, using football as the motivator. We are proud of our history and culture, our innovative and proactive solutions to community problems, and our people. We are now looking to add to our passionate and enthusiastic team.

Position

Head of Football in the Community (Full Time)

The Foundation of Light is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and qualified leader for the role of Head of Football in the Community which has become available as part of our new 2025-2030 strategy implementation.

Responsibilities and objectives
  • Lead the department responsible for delivering football programmes by developing a player pathway suitable for all ages and abilities whilst ensuring all programmes are delivered to a high standard, meeting the criteria set by both the Premier League and the FA.
  • Over the next five years we aim to increase the number of opportunities for male and female aspiring footballers through a range of coaching programmes that engage participants from all age ranges and ability levels.

Location and delivery

The base for the post is the Beacon of Light, with the Foundation delivering across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.
