You will lead technical accounting across the business, advising finance and key stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting decisions and collaboration with Corporate Accounting & Tax, amongst others. Additionally, you'll mentor the Finance Manager (Technical Accounting), and contribute to broader finance initiatives.

Description

    Oversee all aspects of technical accounting, including complex areas such as IFRS 16, pensions, and impairment assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies.Advise on the accounting implications of major business activities-such as restructures, acquisitions, investments, and new ventures-providing clear technical direction throughout the transaction lifecycle.Collaborate across finance, tax, corporate functions, and operational teams to embed strong accounting principles and controls into strategic initiatives and day-to-day decisions.Own the process for evaluating and documenting key accounting judgments and estimates, and drive continuous improvement in control frameworks and reporting accuracy.Lead the adoption of new or updated accounting standards, ensuring smooth integration into business processes and systems.Play a hands-on role in supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting cycles, audits, and statutory filings, working closely with auditors and group stakeholders.Contribute to building a high-performing finance team by mentoring team members, supporting professional development.

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), with 3+ years' post-qualification experience;
  • Strong and up-to-date technical accounting skills with a good understanding of both US GAAP and IFRS;
  • Pensions accounting - IFRS and US GAAP
  • Impairment reviews and modelling - fixed and intangible assets, including ROU assets
  • Lease accounting under US GAAP and IFRS
