Role: Head of Financial Reporting - SC

Location: Hybrid 2/3 days a week in any hub (Multiple locations UK wide)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £803.76/day (Umbrella) MAX

Duration: Until 15/8/25 initially

Security Clearance: SC

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience of managing the production of an Annual Report and Accounts and managing audit.
• Ability to understand complex financial reporting issues, accounting and cash management standards relevant to a government department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
• Clear communication and influencing skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present information clearly to the intended audience.
• Experience of establishing efficient workflows and standardising processes.
• Candidates must hold full CCAB/CIMA accountancy qualification.
• Experience preparing annual reporting accounts.
• Experience leading an audit.
• Ideally, public sector experience.
• Must be fully qualified.
• Oracle experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accounts comply with IFRS, the FReM, and other relevant government guidance.
• Manage the production of the annual report and accounts, including review and escalation, covering narrative sections and financial statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and timely reporting.
• Analyse current processes to identify improvements in workflows and financial controls.
• Provide technical accounting advice aligned with IFRS and government guidance, representing finance internally and externally.
• Motivate and support team development and project achievement.
• Advise senior management on financial, performance, and risk issues; deputise for the Financial Controller as needed.
