Job description

Head of Financial Reporting South Manchester International Consumer Group £90,000 - £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Zachary Daniels Finance is partnering with one of the UK's most exciting international consumer businesses to recruit a Head of Financial Reporting into its senior Group Finance team.

This is a forward-thinking, fast-moving organisation behind some of the most recognisable brands in the consumer market. With an established international presence, a strong digital and e-commerce proposition and ambitious plans for the future, this is a business that continues to challenge convention, embrace technology and invest in its people.

The working environment is equally impressive. Based at an exceptional, purpose-built headquarters in South Manchester, the business offers state-of-the-art offices, outstanding on-site facilities and a genuinely modern environment that reflects its ambition and scale.

For an ambitious finance professional, this is an opportunity to join a high-profile organisation where things move quickly, expectations are high and there is genuine scope to make an impact.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will take a senior leadership position within Group Finance, overseeing financial reporting, technical accounting, audit and financial governance across a complex international business.

You will lead a team of finance professionals, work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation and gain regular exposure to the Group CFO and wider executive leadership team.

This is a role that combines technical excellence with leadership, transformation and the opportunity to influence how financial reporting and controls develop across the Group.

The Role
  • Lead the Group's financial reporting and statutory compliance requirements, ensuring accurate, timely and technically robust reporting.
  • Take ownership of the Group audit, managing external auditor relationships and coordinating reporting deliverables.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and prepare papers on complex accounting matters for senior leadership and the Audit Committee.
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of qualified finance professionals.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Group Finance, divisional finance, tax, treasury and other business functions.
  • Strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and identify opportunities for automation and greater efficiency.
  • Support strategic projects and wider business initiatives as required.
About You

We are looking for a technically strong, commercially aware finance professional who combines excellent financial reporting knowledge with the confidence to operate in a complex, fast-paced environment.

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification, with approximately five years or more post-qualified experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, consolidated reporting and statutory financial statements.
  • Experience working with or auditing large, complex or listed businesses.
  • A strong understanding of financial controls, corporate governance and external audit requirements.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality reporting under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with senior finance leadership.
  • Strong leadership potential, with experience of developing and mentoring finance professionals.

Candidates currently working in a Big Four or leading accountancy practice are particularly encouraged to apply. This represents an excellent opportunity to make a first move into industry, taking on a senior Group Finance leadership role with substantial responsibility, visibility and long-term career development potential.

Equally, we welcome applications from experienced Group Financial Reporting professionals looking to join a progressive, internationally recognised consumer organisation.

Salary & Benefits
  • £90,000 - £120,000 basic salary, dependent on experience.
  • Bonus
  • Comprehensive employee benefits package.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Excellent on-site facilities, including fitness and wellbeing amenities.
  • Professional development and career progression opportunities.
  • South Manchester location, with five days per week on-site.

Zachary Daniels is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and are committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process for everyone.
