Job description

Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, this is a key role at the heart of our performance management framework, covering financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, analytics, assurance, insight, and reporting.

The role focuses on transforming and improving processes across the FP&A community and shaping the strategic direction of our finance team and business. It is considered as part of succession planning for the Director of Group Finance or a divisional FD, depending on experience and performance.

What you will do as Head of Financial Planning & Analytics
Analytics and Assurance
  • Develop and implement advanced analytic tools to provide insights and support strategic decisions.
  • Identify key drivers for Revenue, Cost, and Capital for assurance and insight development.
  • Provide independent analysis and financial recommendations for decision making.
  • Ensure understanding of regulatory linkages and maintain robust controls for output accuracy.
Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting
  • Own the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Partner with the business to develop financial plans aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Implement innovative forecasting techniques for market and business responsiveness.
  • Lead the budgeting process with a focus on quality, flexibility, and use of leading tools.
  • Produce reports that facilitate informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with the strategic planning team (SBP).
Finance Transformation
  • Involved in transforming the Finance and Commercial departments.
  • Work with the Plan To Perform team to deliver FP&A transformation.
  • Drive the automation and standardization of performance reporting.
Stakeholder Management
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to translate complex data into insights and influence senior decisions.
  • Build a collaborative FP&A community across Finance.
  • Coordinate with the Strategic Business Planning team on long-term planning.

  • Proven senior FP&A experience, ideally in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Expertise in analytics, reporting, planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
