Job Description Summary

• Set the strategic direction for Vanguard's management of Financial Crime compliance in Europe.
• Provide proactive support to business leadership in Europe.
• Drive and communicate risk assessment and management processes across relevant jurisdictions.
• Keep senior management and the Board informed of key risks, progress indicators, and compliance status.
• Achieve key goals and deliverables within set timelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Hire, evaluate, supervise, and develop team members; set performance standards and make compensation decisions.
• Serve as a compliance expert, advising business leaders on issues affecting Vanguard's activities and products.
• Lead operations related to suspicious activity monitoring and client due diligence.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the financial crimes compliance program.
• Set metrics to evaluate team effectiveness and continuously improve operations.
• Prepare and submit internal and external reports timely and accurately.
• Identify complex issues, implement corrective actions, and recommend practices to prevent violations.
• Maintain expertise on industry and regulatory developments, providing guidance and acting as a liaison to regulators.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Extensive relevant experience, including supervisory roles and at least five years in financial crimes compliance.
• Preferably an undergraduate degree; a graduate degree is a plus.
