We're looking for an experienced and strategic Finance Head of Property Services to join a leading organisation in the housing sector. This is a high-impact leadership role, overseeing the financial performance of a £155 million maintenance directorate and managing a team of seven finance professionals.
The Role
You will be a key member of the senior finance team within the Group Financial Reporting division, leading the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning for the maintenance division.
You will act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, translating financial data into actionable insights and supporting strategic decision making.
You will also play a vital role in integrating new acquisitions into the group’s financial framework, ensuring compliance, efficiency and alignment with best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of Senior and Assistant Management Accountants to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting
Produce and present monthly management accounts to senior directors
Manage quarterly reforecasts and long-term financial planning for the maintenance function
Partner with directors and budget holders to support operational and strategic decisions
Support statutory reporting and coordinate with the wider Group Finance team
Drive process improvement and system development within the finance function
Contribute to the organisation’s overall financial strategy as part of the senior finance team
Lead and develop your team to ensure performance, growth and succession planning
Promote cross-functional support and knowledge sharing within finance
What We’re Looking For
Fully qualified accountant (CCAB) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting and business partnering
Proven leadership skills managing finance teams across different levels
Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across finance and operations
Commercially astute with a strategic approach
Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
Strong communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly
Organised, proactive and able to meet tight deadlines
Background in social housing or property maintenance
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics F&O and Adaptive Insights
Understanding of statutory reporting, corporation tax and VAT
Other Requirements
Full clean driving licence and access to a car for travel to sites
Willingness to travel to key sites at least twice per month
