The Head of Finance - MSS Europe is a key leadership role focused on business partnering, supporting and driving business performance, maintaining a common global finance operating framework, while also maintaining a strong controllership environment. Its purpose is to provide strategic direction and guidance to senior management within CIB Europe acting as business partner to the Head of MSS Europe & Americas.

In this role you will:
• Act as a trusted business partner and advisor to the MSS Regional Business lead, Op Co and their teams; in respect of performance of the regions, sectors and products through the timely provision of insightful analysis and advice to improve the performance of the region across revenue, costs and FTEs. Ensuring that drivers of revenue and costs that are allocated to the business are understood, monitored, controlled and accurately reported on a monthly basis;
• Support and challenge the business to deliver medium and long term revenue, cost, FTE, capital and other performance targets• Provide commercial and Finance expertise for new product launches, pricing reviews and strategic initiatives
• Drive accountability for investment spend through regular engagement with strategic partners while ensuring adequate reporting is in place to support execution
• Engage across Finance and the business on restructures.
• Key point of contact for all finance related matters; drive forward the development and coordination of the Business Finance partnership across MSS; lead engagement across Finance (accounting policy, ALCM, regulatory policy and local finance teams as required)
• Lead the execution of the regional business plan, focusing on team development, transformation, business restructuring and projects
• Further the transformation agenda within Finance; stop, simplify, automate, while ensuring new strategic tools are fit for purpose
• Lead and manage the ongoing development of a high performing team; continue to embrace the team principles and ways of working
• Significant ad hoc partnering with key stakeholders
• Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the financials
• Management informed of key financial issues.
• Financial reporting continually enhanced to meet customer requirements.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• An effective business partner capable of operating at senior levels of the organisations.
• A strong understanding of the suite of CIB MSS products.
• Proven understanding of client profitability metrics.• A working knowledge of balance sheet and capital management.
• A driven, delivery orientated individual with a commercial mindset and ability to coordinate change.
• In tune with macroeconomic factors, market dynamics and able to interpret impact on performance and risk/return profile.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to understand complex data and make high quality, timely decisions.
• Demonstrated team management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
