Job description

Join Our Team as a Head of Finance!

Do you enjoy using your financial expertise to influence organisational strategy, drive performance, and make a lasting impact? Are you passionate about turning complex financial information into meaningful insights that support positive change?

As Head of Finance, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the financial sustainability and long‑term success of Inspire North. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will lead the delivery of high‑quality financial management services, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, treasury management, and financial controls. You will provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders, helping to shape decision‑making and support the delivery of services that make a real difference to people’s lives.

Leading and developing the finance team, you will ensure robust governance, compliance with statutory requirements, and the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to promote financial awareness, support operational teams, and drive efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of financial stewardship.

At Inspire North, you’ll have the opportunity to use your professional skills for a purpose beyond profit. As a values‑driven charity, we are committed to creating positive change in our communities, and every role contributes to that mission. In return, you’ll benefit from a supportive and collaborative culture, opportunities for professional development, and the satisfaction of knowing your work directly supports people to live healthier, happier, and more independent lives.

Who we’re looking for:
  • A qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • An experienced leader with a strong track record in financial planning, budgeting, statutory reporting, financial control, and treasury management.
  • Someone who can analyse and communicate complex financial information, providing insight that supports strategic decision‑making and organisational growth.
  • A collaborative leader who can build strong relationships, develop high‑performing teams, and drive continuous improvement across financial systems and processes.
Why Join Us?

We understand that when people feel supported and valued, they can achieve great things – and we want you to be part of that.

Here’s what you’ll enjoy as part of our team:
  • Flexible working options to help you balance work and life in a way that suits you.
  • Hybrid working – enjoy the best of both worlds!
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with service – because your time off matters.
  • A wealth of learning and career development opportunities, with paid and tailored training to support your growth.
  • Free, confidential Employee Assistance Programme 24/7, including access to counselling and GP services – your wellbeing is a priority.
  • Employer contributory pension scheme to help secure your future.
  • Great maternity, paternity and adoption benefits to support you and your family.
  • Exclusive care workers discounts to make life a little easier.
  • Access to a range of Employee Networks including People of Colour, LGBT+, Mental Health and Accessibility – we embrace and celebrate diversity.
  • A variety of health and wellbeing initiatives to keep you feeling your best.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme to help you stay active and reduce your carbon footprint.
  • Access to a Corporate Health Plan to support your physical and mental health.

We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive, anti‑racist environment where everyone can thrive by being their true self. Join us in driving this important agenda forward and help shape a workplace where all voices are valued!
