Job Description

VANRATH is delighted to be working with a well-known NICS ALB in their recruitment of a Head of Finance & Corporate Services. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with public sector experience to lead a finance team within the Civil Service. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-level financial management, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing Financial Reporting and Corporate Services within ALB
  2. Developing and monitoring revenue and capital expenditure budgets
  3. Delivering and reporting to the Executive and Senior Management Teams
  4. Reviewing and approving Capital Projects & Business Cases
  5. Overseeing Corporate Governance, Risk, HR, IT, & Procurement
  6. Managing a multi-sector team

Qualifications

Qualified accountant with a recognized professional body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA). Strong knowledge of public sector accounting standards and financial regulations. Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.
