Job Description:

VANRATH is delighted to be working with a well-known NICS ALB in their recruitment of a Head of Finance & Corporate Services. This role is ideal for a Qualified Accountant with public sector experience to lead a finance team within the Civil Service. The successful candidate will oversee high-level financial management, ensure robust financial controls, and support strategic financial planning and decision-making. Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial reporting and corporate services within ALB
  • Developing and monitoring revenue and capital expenditure budgets
  • Delivering reports to the Executive and Senior Management Teams
  • Reviewing and approving capital projects and business cases
  • Managing corporate governance, risk, HR, IT, and procurement
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with a recognized professional body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA)
  • Strong knowledge of public sector accounting standards and regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling experience

Salary: Grade 7 NICS
