Job Description:

VANRATH is delighted to be working with a well-known NICS ALB in their recruitment of a Head of Finance & Corporate Services. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with public sector experience to lead a finance team within the Civil Service. The successful candidate will provide high-level financial management, ensure robust financial controls, and support strategic financial planning and decision-making. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing Financial Reporting and Corporate Services within ALB
  • Developing and monitoring revenue and capital expenditure budgets
  • Delivering and reporting to the Executive and Senior Management Teams
  • Reviewing and approving Capital Projects & Business Cases
  • Overseeing Corporate Governance, Risk, HR, IT, & Procurement
  • Managing a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:

Qualified accountant from a recognized professional body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA). Strong knowledge of public sector accounting standards and financial regulations. Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.
