Job Description:

VANRATH is working with a well-known NICS ALB to recruit a Head of Finance & Corporate Services. This role is ideal for a Qualified Accountant with public sector experience to lead a finance team within the Civil Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for high-level financial management, maintaining robust controls, and supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making. Key responsibilities include:

1. Financial Reporting and Corporate Services within ALB
2. Developing and monitoring revenue and capital expenditure budgets
3. Delivering reports to the Executive and Senior Management Teams
4. Reviewing and approving Capital Projects & Business Cases
5. Overseeing Corporate Governance, Risk, HR, IT, & Procurement
6. Managing a multi-sector team

Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant with a recognized professional body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA)
• Strong knowledge of public sector accounting standards and regulations
• Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling experience
