Are you a commercially astute finance leader ready to shape the future of capital investment in the water sector? We are seeking a dynamicHead of Finance for Capital Maintenance & Asset to lead financial strategy and performance across a record-breaking £7bn investment programme.

This is a high-profile role, partnering with two Executive Directors and influencing decisions that will shape infrastructure delivery through to 2040. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring value for money, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability, while leading a growing team of finance professionals.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as trusted advisor to Executive Directors for Strategic Delivery and Asset Management
  • Lead financial planning and performance for major capital programmes, including two reservoir projects and a major growth scheme
  • Provide strategic insight and reporting to the Executive Committee, Board, and investors
  • Oversee forecasting, financial control, and investment governance across capital portfolios
  • Drive commercial leadership in procurement, co-investment, and alliance partnerships
  • Own risk management processes and ensure regulatory assurance
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, aligned to business transformation and growth

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Qualified finance professional (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive senior-level experience
  • Proven track record in regulated or infrastructure-based businesses with large-scale capital investment
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in complex investment decision-making
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including Board-level engagement
  • Experience working in matrix environments and leading through both direct and virtual teams
  • Strong people leadership with the ability to grow/develop a team of financial professionals
  • A strategic thinker with a passion for performance, insight, and transformation
  • Experience of S4 Hana/Ariba would be desirable
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and capital efficiency tracking
