Your new company
You will be working for a large council based in the West Midlands that has a strong vision to improve its communities. This vision is supported by a well-structured finance team dedicated to helping the organization achieve its future goals.

Your new role
You will serve as the Head of Finance Business Partnering for the Place and Economy directorates, including Housing - GF & HRA, Regeneration, Corporate Services, Support services, and Environment. You will oversee a team of approximately 13 finance business partners and assistants, providing support and challenge in managing the revenue budget, Medium Term Financial Strategy, capital program, and control environment with a focus on strong financial governance.
You will lead, manage, and develop the team to deliver effective business partnering, insightful reporting, advice, and challenge to promote sound financial management.
You will provide expert advice on accounting, budgeting, and financial management to members, service directors, and managers.
You will contribute to the strategic and operational management of the Finance Division, leading and motivating the team to deliver excellent business partnering services.

What you'll need to succeed
You should be a qualified accountant with significant experience in a large local authority, responsible for a team of finance business partners. You should have strategic experience leading multiple directorate areas, knowledge of the place/economy directorate, effective people management skills, and the ability to introduce new processes and procedures.
