Job Description

This role is accountable for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of business partnering and FP&A within the Finance Division. It ensures the provision of a high-quality, insight-driven service supporting the University's financial sustainability and strategic goals. Responsibilities include providing strategic direction to finance teams, ensuring efficient financial processes, developing financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics, leading a team of 8 direct reports and approximately 50 staff, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. The role also involves collaborating across the university to implement financial strategies, supporting the Finance Transformation Programme, and managing financial risks and assumptions related to the university's ten-year model.

Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree and a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Experience managing a large finance team (30-60 staff)
• Experience in a complex, large organization, preferably in Higher Education
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience in senior finance leadership roles
• Understanding of FP&A, MI, budgeting, planning, and forecasting in large organizations
• Proficiency with large ERP systems like SAP, MS Dynamics, or Oracle
• UK Right to work
• Availability to work 2 days per week in Cambridge
