We are looking for a commercially focused, strategic Head of Finance to join a fast-growing company that delivers green science innovation in the beauty space. A finance leader for a green science R&D company who will drive the financial planning and reporting to inform profitable growth decisions and support operations.

• Working Pattern: On-Site (Potential for hybrid)

• Rate: Competitive
• Commitment: Part-time (3-4 days per week)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Finance:

• Lead the company’s financial strategy, ensuring robust financial planning, management, and reporting to support both short-term operations and long-term growth objectives.
• Full ownership of the financial processes and controls, responsible for development and implementation of significant process improvements.
• Preparation of all budgets, and forecasts, together with the business that align with the company's strategic goals.
• Improve the delivery of accurate, timely and decision-useful financial reporting that is aligned with business needs.
• Lead treasury strategy and cash flow management to ensure a strong liquidity position, including evaluating and securing appropriate funding solutions to support the company’s growth and operational needs.
• Oversee financial operations including tax and audit functions
• Support the CEO in strategic decision-making, including analysis of growth opportunities, cost-benefit analysis of potential product launches, and other key business initiatives.
• Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and analysis to the board, investors, and stakeholders.

2. Operational Excellence:

• Work closely with the CEO to translate strategic plans into actionable operational tasks, ensuring that key milestones are met.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the alignment of resources with business objectives.
• Implement KPIs and performance metrics across the organization to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.
• Research and propose new approaches to work, new tools, and new best practices for the wider company

3. IP and Innovation Portfolio Management:

• Support the R&D team in managing the company’s IP portfolio, ensuring it is structured for long-term value creation, risk reduction and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead the financial evaluation of commercial deal structures to monetize the IP portfolio, including licensing agreements, co-development partnerships, and new product launches.

4. Investor Relations and Fundraising:

• Support fundraising initiatives, including preparing investor presentations, financial models, and due diligence materials.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Build close working relationships with the CEO and the wider team, scientific and commercial, to ensure financial buy-in and compliance across finance processes, as well as alignment on financial plans and overall business objectives.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence within the company.
• Contribute to overall business strategy and growth planning
