A leading company in Uxbridge is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Homes & Communities Finance Teams. The role involves providing strategic finance advice, managing budgets, and supporting transformation projects. Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the Homes & Communities Finance Teams within Financial Management, providing strategic finance advice and business partnering support to various Council services and Directorates.
  2. Support transformation and business-led projects within Homes & Communities by providing timely and robust financial information to aid decision-making and shape project outcomes. Ensure budgets are realigned to meet savings targets and report on delivery timing differences.
  3. Support Senior Management and budget managers in delivering their budget management responsibilities, ensuring compliance with Financial Standing Orders and financial policies as directed by the Director of Corporate Finance.
  4. Provide financial leadership and strategic advice to develop robust financial plans, ensuring the future needs of the service are incorporated into the Council’s medium-term financial forecast (MTFF).
  5. Deliver high-quality financial advice and accurate, timely financial information to Corporate Directors, Heads of Service, and budget managers. Promote a culture of self-service budget management supported by strategic financial management through a business partnering model.
  6. Lead financial modelling of demand-led budgets within Homes & Communities, working with relevant senior managers to establish robust forecasts and use trend data to inform MTFF decisions.
  7. Support statutory accounting processes, external audit, and legislative changes impacting finance.
  8. Maintain effective relationships within the Finance directorate to support the production of strategic financial information, medium-term financial plans, and the training and development of the finance team.
  9. Establish external relationships with key stakeholders in the community, government, professional bodies, and other organizations to ensure continuous improvement in service performance.
