Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function and oversee the development of financial strategies.
  • Provide insight and strategic counsel to support decision-making.
  • Manage budget setting, forecasting, compliance, and performance reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies.

Skills

Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Strong senior-level experience in public sector finance
Track record of shaping financial strategies and managing complex budgets
Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders and boards
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, regulated environments
Clear, strategic thinker with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach

Head of Finance
3 Month Contract
Location: Oldbury
Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35)

A leading organisation is seeking a Head of Finance on a 3 month contract to provide expert leadership across its financial planning, governance, and operational delivery. This role is central to shaping and strengthening financial strategy, ensuring sustainable service delivery, and supporting long-term organisational priorities.

About the Role

You'll lead the finance function and oversee the development of short-, medium- and long-term financial strategies. You will work as part of the senior leadership team, offering insight and strategic counsel to support sound decision-making across the organisation.

Your remit will include budget setting, forecasting, compliance, and performance reporting-alongside a focus on delivering value for money and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies. You will also lead the finance and administration teams, supporting the organisation's drive for high-quality, high-impact services.

Key Skills & Experience:
