Citizens Advice Liverpool Limited seeks a Head of Finance to steer the charity's financial strategy, ensuring sustainability and impact for communities in Liverpool. The role reports to the CEO and supports Trustees and Senior Leaders.

You will lead a small finance team, oversee budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management, and provide clear financial insight to enable robust governance across the organisation and its partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience in charity finance and SORP accounting.
• VAT management and compliance experience.
• Experience with complex funding arrangements and restricted funds.

Head of Finance

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata for contracted hours

Hours: 21 hours per week, worked over 3 days, with occasional evening work required for Board meetings

Place of work: Liverpool office base with hybrid working (minimum 1 day office-based per week, subject to business needs)

To succeed in this role, you will bring experience of charity finance, including charity accounting under SORP, VAT management and compliance, and working with complex funding arrangements and restricted funds.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future direction of Citizens Advice Liverpool. As our Head of Finance, you will lead the organisation's financial strategy, helping to ensure our long-term sustainability and maximise our impact for the people and communities we serve.

As a trusted adviser to the CEO, Trustees and senior leaders, you will provide clear financial insight, strengthen financial performance, and ensure robust governance across the organisation, our partnerships and any subsidiary entities. Leading a small finance team, you will oversee financial planning, reporting, compliance and controls, while supporting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to organisational leadership beyond finance, helping to shape strategy, drive change and ensure Citizens Advice Liverpool remains a resilient, ambitious and values-driven charity that continues to make a real difference.
