Head of Finance
Brain Research UK is seeking a Head of Finance to oversee the finance function and contribute to the development of this evolving charity.
About us
Brain Research UK (BRUK) funds world-class research to discover the causes, develop new treatments, and improve the lives of those affected by neurological conditions.
The brain is the most complex organ, weighing just 3lb, yet controlling emotions, senses, and actions. When it breaks down, our lives are affected, but this doesn’t have to be the case.
We fund research to understand neurological conditions better, develop treatments, and support those affected. We aim to inspire scientists and families to work together, side by side.
As an agile organization with a small staff, we aim to deliver significant impact.
The role
Effective financial management is central to our strategy. The Head of Finance will be key in managing finances, resources, and operations, fostering a culture of financial efficiency and control.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance will lead financial matters, providing critical information, insightful analysis, and timely reports to support the charity’s growth.
The role is standalone but involves working within a close-knit team. It offers a degree of autonomy and opportunities to contribute to the charity’s development. The position provides exposure to the Board and Investment Committee.
We seek a dynamic qualified accountant with broad experience in financial reporting and processes, preferably within a fundraising charity. The ideal candidate will be a financial all-rounder, capable of shaping financial operations and reporting meaningfully. This role is suited for a progressive accountant seeking responsibility and leadership in finance.
We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in financial functions and a personality that fits within a collaborative charity environment.
