Job Title: Head of Finance

The Role

As a Head of Finance, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working at the core of our exciting new operational delivery model; it is a role designed specifically to create a positive impact on our business, helping the business deliver a cost-controlled environment against a backdrop of robust financial governance.

Day-to-day, you'll provide financial partnering at the highest level, working with varied stakeholders across the breadth of the Marine business; you'll also lead a team that will deliver the highest level of Finance support to our Operational leadership community:

  1. Work closely with the Finance Director for Marine Operations & Engineering, supporting quality delivery.
  2. Oversee our Indirect cost base, including budgeting, reporting, influencing and controlling.
  3. Deliver a high quality and robust rates process and model, including monthly reporting and performance analysis, along with a quarterly rates revision process.
  4. Deliver cost savings across the business, in line with (and in excess of) our commitments, ensuring we remain price competitive within the industry.
  5. Support the Organisation in achieving successful outcomes of our Internal and External audits.
  6. Responsible for governance concerning our fixed asset portfolio, our inventory controls and our extensive capital investment programme.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Rosyth on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Head of Finance:
  1. Experience in an operational environment.
  2. A 'can do' attitude; driven, passionate and motivated, with a thirst for progression.
  3. Ideally, you will have experience in a regulated industry such as the defence sector, or similar but, this is not essential.
  4. Strong leadership skills and working in a collaborative environment.
  5. High degree of commercial acumen.
Qualifications for the Head of Finance:

You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA, FCA, FCCA, FCMA, ICAEW, ICAS, CPA) or equivalent / similar.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
